Do you love to quilt? Do you have a group that enjoys working together on quilts? Bring your quilting group to Timberhaze Retreat to getaway and work on your quilting projects! We are open year around, and are located only 40 minutes north of the Twin Cities.
Our craft room was designed with quilters in mind. We consulted with a friend who is an avid quilter to help make Timbehaze Retreat the perfect quilters getaway. She provided us with many ideas to make certain that a quilter would be comfortable, and would be enjoy their time working on a quilting project at Timberhaze Retreat.
Each quilter will have a sturdy, 5-foot table and an ergonomic chair for a personal workstation.
The craft room has an 8ft x 8ft. flannel-covered, foam back design wall – so if you need to use pins it acts as a pincushion. The feedback we have received is “this is the best design wall ever”!
There are 2 counter height cutting tables to cut quilting fabric in the craft room. We also have a Rowenta steam iron and a big board to iron your Quilts. Ott lights are also available to provide additional workplace lighting, but thus far the quilters have never had to use them because the craft room is so well lit with balanced lighting. There are plenty of outlets available to each table for sewing machines and personal irons.
The craft room also has a TV, DVD player, and a stereo with surround sound. You can also connect your phone or computer via Bluetooth to the stereo in case you want to listen to your own playlist – or use Pandora, Spotify, or any other music service to listen to music.
When you are not quilting and are ready to sleep, there are 8 beds all made up that have “my pillow” pillows. Each quilter will have a nightstand and a lamp so they can read before bed.
If sleep isn’t what you are looking for, you can hang-out in the living room on the comfy sectional and watch the smart TV.
If your quilting group is looking for more a break and want some action, go ahead and have a lively game of ping pong in the attached heated garage or hang out at the fire pit for the evening.
The house also has a large, well-equipped kitchen with just about every utensil a quilter could want to make a meal. The large table is perfect for all the quilters to gather for a meal or to play a car or board game.
